Kate Moss Discovered by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm model agency, at JFK airport in 1988, as she prepared to board a flight home to London, Kate Moss started modelling at 14.

Croydon born Moss, who once said she "might've been a bank manager", went onto to become one of the most famous faces in the world At 15, Kate was cast in her first catwalk show, playing Lolita for John Galliano. At 18, she became the Face of Calvin Klein, most famously fronting his underwear campaign with Mark Wahlberg and appearing nude for Obsession, and made her first appearance in Vogue in 1993.

By 1998 Kate’s hectic lifestyle had taken its toll and she checked into London's Priory Clinic, suffering from exhaustion.

When she emerged Kate admitted that she had spent the last decade modelling "drunk". Since rehab and the dissolution of her eight-year contract with Calvin Klein, Kate has taken on the grander status of style icon, appearing less and less on the catwalks.

Kate's love life has been almost as well documented as her career, right down to the detail of the tiny heart tattoo on her hand. She has been linked with photographer Mario Sorrenti, Spacehog guitarist Antony Langdon, Rolling Stone Ron's son Jesse Wood, and artist Jake Chapman, as well as Billy Zane, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Evan Dando of the Lemonheads. Most famously, she dated Johnny Depp and Pete Docherty.

She has a daughter, Lila Grace, with Dazed & Confused editor, Jefferson Hack.

Launch day for Kate Moss collection. A mass of shoppers is expected to descend on Oxford Street tonight as fashionistas fight to get their fill of celebrity shoes and bags at the launch of Kate Moss's clothing collection for Topshop.

The hotly-anticipated range is expected to give a celebrity makeover to the high-street store, with 50 designs, ranging from £12 for a vest to £150 for a leather jacket, going on sale to consumers.

In preparation for the crowds, the store says that it has engaged extra security staff to look after shoppers, with a coloured wristband system in place to make sure too many people do not come in at once.

The flagship store will close its doors at 17:30 BST tonight in preparation for the event, before reopening at 20:00 until midnight for the big launch.

Shoppers will only be able to buy a maximum of five items from the supermodel's collection - in order to stop people fighting or items ending up on sites such as eBay - and will only be allowed inside the store to browse for 20 minutes.

Being one of the world's top fashion icons and most photographed women, it is expected that Moss's range will be a big success for the store.

Madonna's recent M by Madonna range designed for H&M was credited for boosting sales at the high-street retailer by 17 per cent during March.
